Tarangire Simba Lodge

Tarangire Simba Lodge is a mid-range accommodation found close to sangaiwe gate, outside Tarangire national park in the Northern circuit of the Tanzania region.  The lodge is just 10 minutes from the Sangaiwe entrance the lodge is situated in the Wild-rich areas, offering the stunning views of Lake Burunge and wilderness. The park is well known for its baobab trees.

How to get there

It takes approximately a 2-3 hour drive from Arusha Town and a 35 minutes flight to the close airstrip, then a few minutes’ drive to be transferred to the lodge.

The camp is in an ideal place, convenient to tourists and travelers for Tanzania wildlife safari adventures and relaxation overlooking the beautiful views of Lake Burunge and surrounding areas.

About the lodge:

Tarangire Simba lodge contains 16 comfortable and elegant en suite tents overlooking the magnificent views of the park, built in traditional building styles with thatched roofs.

Tents are well decorated, elevated with raised wooden platforms, and furnished with private en suite facilities of  flushing toilets,  bathroom with hot and cold showers, mosquito nets, wooden chairs ,  towel, free toiletries, complimentary bottled water, dressing tables, and white curtains to mention but a few.

Tents have verandas and large sitting areas; you relax while overlooking the stunning view over the lake and wildlife visiting the camp and surrounding area.

Tents are well equipped with excellent and comfortable queen-sized beds with clean and washed beddings that vary in size, with single beds for individuals, double/twin beds for sharing, as well as triple/family tent options.

 Services and facilities at the Lodge include

 A  dining areas  that serves  different  meals both international and  African- inspired  meals that meets  guests choice. Meals served include barbecue breakfast, picnic lunch and  dinner .You can have meals in any place of your choice  served by well-trained, friendly, and organized staff. they also serve bush diners  overlooking  the stars in the sky  and  bush breakfasts enjoying the morning sun rising over the lake.

 A well-stocked  bar/lounge with a variety of drinks, local ,cocktail  , wines, spirits and international beers—you relax and sip the cocktail or monk tail  while overlooking  the spectacular view over the park  and   the surrounding area.

Activities to do while at the camp include. Game drives in the park give a chance to spot different animals, and birding/bird watching is possible since the park has different bird species and nature walks.

About the Park

Tarangire national park is considered to be the sixth largest park in Tanzania, found in the southeast of  Lake Manyara national park in the Northern part of Tanzania. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River that crosses the park and the river is the only source of fresh water for animals in the Tarangire ecosystem.  It’s well known for its thick baobab trees.

 It occupies a total area of 2,850 KM squared and is 150 km from Arusha. The park is small with twenty-six mammal, famous with large herd of big five animals like; Buffaloes , elephants, zebras, enlands,  Rhinos  Impalas ,antelopes, mention a few, and 500 bird species like yellow-necked, helmeted,  barbet,  starling ,swift ,stripped swallows etc.

The park has different categories of accommodation like;   Budget,   Mid-range   and   luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to guests visiting tarangire national park.  There are more different  activities  to do while in the Park which include;  Game viewing, you spot different animals in the park), Visiting Tarangire river, Cultural visits in the local village,  Camping , Bird watching/Birding since the park has more bird species ,Boat trip at  Tarangire river , Night walking safaris ,  sightseeing trips, hot air balloon riding in tarangire park etc . Dry season is the best period to visit  tarangire national park as animals are migrating in June-September, hence giving a chance to see some of the animals.
